Circles

Strange enough, I now find myself back at another beginning...and I am fine with that.

The last few weeks have been riddled with sleepless nights and a struggle on how to keep people working together without getting caught up in petty bickering. False accusations, questions of loyalty, people speaking without all the facts...it's finally over and we can focus on the next step.

I believe that all things have a purpose and happen for a reason. You may not get all the answers, and some people can never be pleased, but such is life.

Nantimi is over, but I will not fear the future, but embrace it.

Clarity

Today is the last day of the conference. Boston has been amazing, and it is even more clear to me that client relationships are just as important as the work we produce. People want to be treated like their opinions are valued, and they should be. Even within our staff, who doesn't (and should) feel appreciated and recognized for their hard work. The next step won't be easy, and I need to patient and wait until the right time, but the partners have to come together or...well, no need to go there right now.

Another shot from my window. Thanks Boston, you'll always be a second home to me.

Boston air...

I hate planes, simple as that. After this weekend though, I will gladly sit anywhere for an hour if it gets me 400 miles from here. I really thought the session would help this weekend, but I have a feeling that some are worried less about building relationships (both team and client) and more about building their resumes. Anyway...

I was looking forward to the Flash Forward conference this week, but now it seems like I'll be fishing for a new hire. Louise was a perfect fit for our team, and I think she should have gotten a second chance, but it was a pretty stupid move to compromise our client's trust like that.

Will be interesting to see what pans out...at least Boston is great this time of year.

Tuesday

As many of you know (I am assuming only friends are bothering to read this), things got a little tense this weekend with the partners. Egos were flying and the pressure of delivering materials for this new deadline is slowly killing us. I'm sure these are just growing pains, but the office just doesn't seem big enough these days.

Maybe I need a day off.

Consistent Change.

The team and I have been chugging away at some new design concepts for a pretty high-profile (or at least it will be) project the last couple weeks and I feel I am running on fumes. We are very happy with how everything is looking, and more importantly, the client is pleased, but it's just been a draining process.

On another note, I have a good feeling about Denis and I know he will be a very valuable member of our team. He has great vision for where we can go, but is very easy-going and comfortable.

Anyway, is anyone besides my girlfriend reading this? Walter, you there? Claude????

Welcome.

Hello, my name is Martin Tinley and I am a designer. I am the Art Director and a partner at Nantimi, Inc. a newly formed supergroup of creative-types. My girlfriend suggested I set this account up...since she has been an avid blogger for years...and try to be disciplined enough to actually update it. Well, we'll see.

Until then.
